Privacy Policy

Edition is a personalized daily newspaper platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

What we collect

• Account information — email address, name, timezone, and login credentials (managed by Supabase Auth)
• Preferences — topic interests, delivery schedule, edition configuration
• Usage data — edition generation history, email open tracking (via a 1x1 pixel), and delivery logs
• Payment information — processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We receive your subscription status and billing period from Stripe.

How we use your data

• To generate and deliver your personalized newspaper
• To improve article selection based on your topic preferences
• To send your edition at your chosen delivery time via email
• To process subscription payments
• To monitor service health and fix technical issues

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Edition:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (your account data, preferences, and generated PDFs)
• Resend — email delivery (your email address and edition attachments)
• Stripe — payment processing (your payment method and billing details)
• Anthropic (Claude) — article rewriting and classification (article text only, no personal data)
• Vercel — frontend hosting (standard web server logs)
• Railway — backend hosting (standard server logs)

Cookies

Edition uses cookies only for authentication (Supabase session cookies). We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party tracking scripts. Email open tracking uses a 1x1 transparent image — you can disable image loading in your email client to opt out.

Data retention

• News articles — retained for 14 days, then automatically deleted
• Generated PDFs — retained for 30 days in cloud storage
• Account data — retained until you delete your account
• Rewrite cache — cleared after 7 days

Your rights

You can:

• Access your data — your preferences and delivery history are visible in your dashboard
• Correct your data — update your name, email, timezone, and preferences in account settings
• Delete your data — contact us to permanently delete your account and all associated data
• Unsubscribe from email delivery — use the one-click unsubscribe link in any edition email

Children

Edition is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice in the product. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
